thinks

Whatever Rama thinks he need not even utter it, Lakshmana will do it as such, immediately. Rama saw the holy divine feet of Vishwamitra. He wished to offer flowers unto the holy feet. Thinking thus, he turned and Lakshmana was standing with several lotuses plucked from somewhere placed in leaf. Seeing this Rama showed his happiness with his eyes to Lakshmana. He placed the flowers on the feet of Guru. The two children circumambulated Vishwamitra and prostrated unto him. Vishwamitra was pleasantly surprised.

Sahasradhara

Shri Ram instructed Lakshman to guard the main entry and who ever entered would be punished since the former and Kaala Devata were meditating together on Deva Karya (a certain task of Devas) and were not to be disturbed. But Sage Durvasa arrived and pressurised Lakshman to inform Rama of his arrival and Laxman had to be punished of being disowned. The forsaken Lakshman did severe Tapasya to Parameswara to absolve the indiscretion that he had done due to Durvasa’s unexpected entry. This made ‘Seshanag’ (whose Avatar was Lakshmana) appear and the exraodinary radiance and heat of the jewels of the thousand hoods of Seshanag pierced through the banks of Sarayu River and up came a Sahasradhara Tirtha. Indra and Devas also appeared and the indiscretion of Laksmana due to circumstances beyond his control was pardoned. Such is the power of the Tirtha that even Lakshman’s blunders were pardoned and devotees performing ‘Snaan’, ‘Puja’ and ‘Daan’ in the name of Seshanag (Naga Puja) especially in Vaisakha Month would never bother the fear of Snakes.

Anjalikastra

In some versions of Ramayana, it is said that Meghanada (Indrajit) was killed by the usage of Anjalikastra. Meghanada was granted a boon from Brahma that after the completion of the Yagna (fire-worship) of his native goddess Prathyangira -"Nikumbhila yagna", he will get a celestial chariot, mounting on which, he will win over any enemy in war and become invulnerable. But Brahma also cautioned him that whosoever would destroy this yagna would also kill him. Indrajit through severe penance convinced Brahma to give him a boon in which it was promised to him that Indrajit would only be killed by such a man who hadn't had sleep for Fourteen years continuously. Thus Lakshmana was only the person at that time whose life satisfied those conditions and thus he was the only person eligible to kill Indrajit. Knowing this Vibhishana requested Lakshmana to destroy Indrajit's yagna. Lakshmana was very successful in spoiling Indrajit's Nikumbhila Yagna and finally killed Meghanada using Anjalikastra.
